In this informational poster, I made it like Mark Weaver because his style allows for some neat developments in ideas. The reason why there is a prison in the boys head is because he has been attacked by SOPA and his creativity feels like a prison. The worst thing is because of copyright he can’t cry for help.
After browsing the internet for information about the political encounter (SOPA), I have found some useful information to consider.
“SOPA” stands for Stop Online Piracy Act.
It was founded by a senator named Lamar Smith. He made the bill in the hopes of protecting the jobs of the entertainment industry (disregarding all the hard-working jobs of the internet goers).
The bill was supported by a minority of people who ironically was the entertainment industry itself. However it is widely despised (rightfully) by the majority, consisting of everyday politicians, businesses and anyone who really uses the internet.
So far SOPA has been put on a big hiatus due to the global hatred of this bill, but some argue this is due to the US elections.
Fun Fact: Lamar once broke copyright law.
I made a visual for my first choice about SOPA. This image portrays the dangers of SOPA and how a simple image can be easily censored. As an art style SOPA is very minimalistic, with blanked out images and big text.
(SOPA is still a danger as it is only post phoned till after the elections).
After reading the list and searching my own ideas, I how selected 4 themes to single out.
Political Encounter: SOPA, PIPA and ACTA and the conflict of piracy. (I hate all three of these bills and I hope none of them pass).
Controversial Encounters: The ever lasting war between Internet Trolls and the Furry Community (I support Furries)
Artistic Movements and Philosophies: Anime and their ever expanding fan-base.
Visual Experience: Film Poster
